it was interesting to write about the site that I and millions of other people visit everyday.  Although I did join the site, I didn’t know much about it.  I didn’t know that the site began as a site for different bands to place their music and possibly pull off a record deal with someone.  MySpace used to and still does help unknown artists become noticed.  Groups such as as Hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance and Arctic Monkey gained that exposure through the internet, MySpace in particular and now have a record deal with a range of half a million to one million copies sold.

As a sight that has members that are younger than the age limit, MySpace is trying to get these people out of MySpace.  Currently, they are trying to identify the ‘young members’, such as 11, 12, 13 year olds by looking at them and telling others to rat them out.  This is not going to work, but I didn’t know all of that. I thought MySpace began as a place where teenagers and older people alike could join and network with all different type of people. 

Although this is a place for networking, there are also all of these petifiles that people should look for.  I didn’t think that MySpace was attempting to do anything about it, but they actually are which makes it pretty cool for me.  While others use this site to get little kids, others use it to show off or just keep connection with other close friends and family members.  I, unlike other people, use this site to notwork with my close friends and family members and are annoyed and others who don’t use the page as it is suppose to.  this was kind of some of the reason why I wrote a paper about this site.  It gave me a better insight which was interesting.
