Blog 12-09 It was nice

It is finally over! I didn’t think that preparing and studying for finals would be as bad as it actually is. I really didn’t think that it would all be at around the same time. I thought it was just tests that you would take close to the end of the semester not ALL in the end, at around the same time. It was fun blogging, but I really don’t think that I would actually keep up with it every week. Probably if I was to blog once a week it would work out only if I remember, and I already know how small my memory box is. Blogging the current events every week did inform me of a few current events that was occurring back at home. Blogging on a current event was sort of like reading the news paper in New York. Reading on the current events of the train stations, killings on the streets of queens, Britney Spears, or the death of Cory Lidle made me see that nothing has changed back at home. The light was and will always be shined on all of the unnecessary and horrible incidents that happen. Locating an article on something up funny or interesting was impossible.

All in all, having an English class in a computer room was a first and hopefully not a last. It was a different experience that I would hopefully like to experience again.

Nixzmary ma rips defense

The mother accused of killing her 7-year-old daughter in one of the city’s most horrific child abuse cases yesterday blamed her lawyer for making fellow inmates “hate me more.”

It really doesn’t matter what was the last thing one of the parents did to Nixzmary.  They both abused to poor little child.  She was only seven years old.  She was human just like her parents, and they treated her as if they were taming the poor child.  Even if one of the parents, either  the mother, Nixzaliz Santiago or the father, Cesar Rodriguez, They both knew of the incident and they should both be placed under the same sentence as each other.  They were both accomplices in the death of Nixzmary and that is too bad if the people in prison know about the incident.  That is his problem and he just has to deal with it.  He should of thought of the consequences before attacking the defenseless young girl.

Frequency North

This event was really interesting. There were two guest speakers Howell and Nelly. The first one to present was Nelly.  She read one story that was both ironic and disturbing. These two elements together made the audience intrigued and interested. She also read in this type of style which allowed the audience to picture all that she was saying.  Watching this performance gave me an idea of how I would have to perform when I read my paper to the class.  Hopefully, I get to read the paper similar to how she read the story to the audience.  Comparing the first speaker to the second, I found that the second speaker was too dull.  His was voice was not something that I would pay attention to if I was in a lecture.  I realized that a lot of the people were dozing off when he was speaking.  I do not want to be like one of those speakers who do not catch people’s attentions and loses it before he caught it. I definitely go to another one of the presentations to.  I learned a lot about the presentations.

MySpace

it was interesting to write about the site that I and millions of other people visit everyday.  Although I did join the site, I didn’t know much about it.  I didn’t know that the site began as a site for different bands to place their music and possibly pull off a record deal with someone.  MySpace used to and still does help unknown artists become noticed.  Groups such as as Hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance and Arctic Monkey gained that exposure through the internet, MySpace in particular and now have a record deal with a range of half a million to one million copies sold.

As a sight that has members that are younger than the age limit, MySpace is trying to get these people out of MySpace.  Currently, they are trying to identify the ‘young members’, such as 11, 12, 13 year olds by looking at them and telling others to rat them out.  This is not going to work, but I didn’t know all of that. I thought MySpace began as a place where teenagers and older people alike could join and network with all different type of people. 

Although this is a place for networking, there are also all of these petifiles that people should look for.  I didn’t think that MySpace was attempting to do anything about it, but they actually are which makes it pretty cool for me.  While others use this site to get little kids, others use it to show off or just keep connection with other close friends and family members.  I, unlike other people, use this site to notwork with my close friends and family members and are annoyed and others who don’t use the page as it is suppose to.  this was kind of some of the reason why I wrote a paper about this site.  It gave me a better insight which was interesting.

This article intails a very horrible story about a man who was killed on his wedding day. Although a lot of people might say that the cops were racists but among the five cops that were shoting, 2 were black 2 were white while the other was hispanic. All of the shots that were fired either went into the bodies of the 2 males that was with the groom or in to the grooms body in a nearby house and near other cops that were on duty else where. These cops were dressed in normal clothes just like the 3 other guys. It has been said that the cops starting shooting without even showing their badges, asking questions or anything.

The way this was handled was incorrect and should be corrected by the law. They should be charged just as any other person would have been charged if some other five people was to do this. A demerit would work in this case, they wonded 2 guys and killed another without even any sight of a gun on the scene except for the guns that the cops had. I know that if they let this go and give the cops a slap on the hand, that would not be the end of that case, it shouldn’t be at least.

Nickel and Dimmed

This was a very interesting book.  Most of the books that I have read have been fictional stories, bibliographies of boring Shakesphere books, but this book was one of the few that has been interesting.  A news reporter has decided to becomes something that she is not and write a book about it.  She was willing to take a chance, experience something new, and attempted to understand low-income citizens in the entirety.  Instead for just deciding to interview one of them, she decides to be one of them, be in their shoes, and without interviewing anyone, write everything that she knows and experienced and put it all on paper.

Personally, I wouldn’t of has the guts to do what she did. I would have been extremely scared and would of backed down even before I became a housemaid. She could be an inspiration to anyone.

Black Friday 11-24

Holiday bargain-hunters raided city stores for the third straight day yesterday – as millions of shoppers around the nation showed no sign of fatigue from Black Friday.

Yes, I was one of the 137 million shoppers in New York City Thursday Friday and Saturday.  It has been a long weekend for me and it is not because I have been with the family, but because of the first shopping days for Christmas.  Although I was anticipated Black Friday with all of the specials that they had available, I was pretty disappointed because more people knew about the event.  I would have thought that it would have been just like last year in which the line for both Best Buy and Circuit City was only one block long not this year, the lines were no less than 4 blocks long.  It was unbelievable.  Everyone was going nuts, taking whatever they could put their hands on and pushing anyone that was one the way.  I didn’t blame them because I was one of those people.  that was honestly the only way in which you could have obtained whatever you were looking for.  Everyone was going pretty quickly and if you didn’t act fast, you were not going to be left with anything for yourself.  All in all, like every year, it has been amazing and I have been getting what I wanted for Christmas.  I can’t wait till that big day to get here!

The people who work in the Apple company are geniuses.  I would never imagine my flight being accommodated with the availability of the playback of my movies and songs of my iPod.  Apple has teamed up with Air
France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, KLM and United airlines. Finally, quality music on my flight to wherever I am going.  I was honestly tired of listening to the music that the airplane provided for us and looking at the movies that was shown to us.  If you don’t like either or, that was too bad for you. 

 Viewing a movie on your iPod drains out a lot of its battery, and on top of that, the screen is not huge.  These Airlines are now able to play all of the music, movies, photos on your iPod.  It would also be able to charge your iPod while you sit back and enjoy your choice of music or movies. I just can’t wait to see what Apple will come out with next and what would Dell, Sony, or any other company will try to do to top what iPod have now accomplished.

I’m now looking forward to see how everything works in the airplane.  Seeing and experiencing it first hand will make me happy. 🙂

A 55yr old Slayed

The teens choked Canora, and bound his arms and legs, police said. They then beat his head with a baseball bat and fire extinguisher so badly that his body had to be identified through dental records and fingerprints, cops said.

Not too long ago two teenagers confessed to robbing and murdering a 55 year old medium built man.  They told police that they all smoked pot then watched some pot before the 55 year old man made a sexual advance which led both of the guys to get extremely agitated and beat the man with both a bat and a fire extinguisher.  After they killed him, they placed him in his beach house in a hole behind one of his closets.  2 weeks later they found the body.  The body was unidentified because of the severe beating until they took several fingerprints and teeth examinations.

I can’t believe that two 17 year old were capable of doing this.  It shocked me to read that they actually beat the man so bad that they were unable to identify to man until they made several studies.  I can not imagine how people, especially minorities are capable of doing such things.  I am not even sure if they charged the two males as adults.  But, I do think that they should even though they are only 17 and still not 18.  Some crimes should just be charged according to what they did not according to age.
